조각과 빛이 함께 숨 쉬는 공간, 스페이스 톤 갤러리는 조각에 특화된 전문 갤러리로, 조각이 가장 자연스럽게 숨 쉬는 환경을 구현하기 위해 설계되었다. 서울미술관과 파주 갤러리 박영을 설계한 여헌 김영조 소장이 설계를 맡아 빛, 재료, 비례를 정교하게 다듬었으며, 그 결과 조각이 단순히 전시되는 대상이 아니라 공간의 일부로 존재할 수 있는 구조가 완성되었다.

자연광의 유입, 벽과 바닥의 질감, 조명 각도와 명암의 리듬까지 세심하게 계산된 공간은 조각의 형태와 깊이를 극대화한다. 절제된 온기 속에서 작품은 고요히 빛나며, 시간의 흐름에 따라 다른 표정과 울림을 드러낸다.

Overview

Space Tone (S.TONE) is a sculpture-focused gallery situated opposite the Danginri Cultural Creation Power Plant. Inspired by London’s Tate Modern, it was crafted to seamlessly blend the identity of the cultural power plant with elegant spatial aesthetics. Its exterior showcases a contemporary façade with gentle curves and black ceramic tiles, while the interior offers a neutral space where the textures of exposed concrete interact with natural and artificial lighting. This creates a minimalist platform that emphasizes each piece’s unique character, allowing it to stand out independently. The open, panoramic layout integrates the artwork, viewers, and environment into a continuous experience. Sculptural pieces gain new significance here, encouraging visitors to not only observe the art but also to breathe and move rhythmically with the space.
